Sometimes it is useful to compare tables side by side in Access. By default, Access displays database objects on tabbed pages so to display tables side by side we first need to change this setting so that the tables appear in separate windows instead.
This can be done by clicking on “File” and then “Options” and selecting the “Current Database” page. Then in the “Application Options” area, click “Overlapping Windows”, click “OK” and restart Access. This now allows us to view tables in different windows and arranging them by clicking the “Switch Windows” button in the Window group which has been newly added to the “Home” tab.
