Power Point Tip – Merge Shapes

Power Point has some nice features to edit graphics which can make slides look very impressive without having to use more sophisticated image editing software. One of these features allows us to draw different shapes and then combine them to create a new more complex shape via the following steps:

  1. Draw the shapes you want to combine by clicking on “Insert” – “Illustrations” – “Shapes”
  2. Select all of the shapes you wish to combine by holding down the CTRL button while clicking them.
  3. On the Format tab, click the Merge Shapes button.
  4. Choose whatever method you want to use to merge the shapes i.e. “Combine”, “Subtract” etc.
